The westbound lanes of I-88 that were washed out by flooding in June reopened Friday. Gov. Pataki was at the site to announce the reopening.
Traffic will run one lane in each direction over the 5.5 mile stretch of reopened highway. The eastbound lanes will reopen later this fall.
There are five other roads or bridges that remanin closed as a result of the June flooding, including parts of NY 357.
