Warren M. Anderson, the former Republican New York State Senator, passed away last week at age 91.
Mr. Anderson, the former State Senate Majority Leader from Binghamton, championed the creation and eventual construction of Interstate 88 from I-81 in Binghamton to the New York State Thruway near Schenectady.
He along with NY Governor Hugh Carey and NY State Assembly Speaker Stanley Steingut were key figures that would lead New York City out of a financial crisis in 1975.
