Yesterday morning, I decided to check out the old alignment of US 20 at the border of New York and Massachusetts. I parked at a pull-off on the Hancock, Massachusetts side of the border. Part of the old alignment has returned to nature, but the grading is still evident. The other part of old US 20 is now called Darrow Road, which goes past the Darrow School, where the old Shaker village in Mount Lebanon, New York is located. There is even an old stone marker at the state line itself.
